A Living History Commemoration of the
Battle for Bennington at Walloomsac, NY
August 12 & 13, 2017
The Friends of the Bennington Battlefield & Sherwood’s Coy. of the Queens Loyal Rangers in conjunction with the New York State Office of Parks, Recreation and Historic Preservation will be hosting the 240th Anniversary of the Battle of Bennington on the weekend of August 12 & 13, 2017 at the Bennington Battlefield State Historic Site in the Town of Hoosick, NY. This event is sanctioned by the Brigade of the American Revolution.
On Saturday August 12 there will be reenactments of the attack on the Dragoon Fort.
We will be using the log bulwark on the site of the Dragoon Fort, and the rebels will attack this at 3:00 PM.
On Sunday morning all those interested can help in reconstructing the Tory Fort. Materials will be provided. Then at 1:30 PM we will recreate the rebel attack on the Tory Fort.
The 18th Century camps will be located in one of the large fields beyond the Barnett House (see map)
Water, straw, firewood and necessaries will be provided at each camp. Please refer to the Camp Regulations for more details.
